Tuesday, June 11, 2013

The North Carolina Division of Public Health building in Raleigh was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a suspicious package.

Authorities were called to the building, which is in the 5500 block of Six Forks Road near Millbrook Road, around 9 a.m. after a package addressed to the North Carolina Attorney General's Office was found.

The fire department's HazMat team used fire alarms to get everyone out of the building safely.

Authorities said they are still investigating the incident since the package was addressed to the Attorney General's Office, which is not at the building on Six Forks Road.

Officials have not said what was inside the package, but did say it did not appear to be threatening.
