Brush fire under control in Harnett County

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (WTVD) -- Firefighters battled a large grass fire in Buies Creek Wednesday evening.

The fire department told ABC11 that the fire started around 9:30 p.m. and the flames got within 100 feet of some townhomes in the Meadows of Buies Creek neighborhood.

Strong winds made fighting the fire difficult.

No injuries were reported.
