Up Close focuses on Cancer awareness

Sunday, April 22, 2012

This morning, we're shining a light on an important women's health issue through a very personal journey.

Eyewitness news reporter Stacey Sager tells us how she fought ovarian cancer - and why women need to take charge when it comes to their health.

Also in the studio, Laura Royse an outreach coordinator for the NYC outreach network of Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered, the only national non-profit dedicated to fighting hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.

Finally, we will discuss just how much progress we have made in fighting this disease. Kristina Thomson - Director of the Strategic Health Initiative with American Cancer Society of NY and NJ, leads our discussion.
