ELIZABETH (WABC) -- Police in New Jersey are searching for yet another car thief who made off with a vehicle that had a child left alone in the back.
The incident ended well, as have other recent incidents involving parents leaving children unattended in running cars, with a tearful reunion outside the Jade Garden restaurant in Elizabeth.
The mother had been ordering food in the restaurant when she saw her car driven off with her 7-year-old daughter in the back seat.
The thief and the girl apparently got into an argument, and the girl was dumped on the street while the thief continued on into Newark.
The investigation is ongoing.
