UNION CITY (WABC) -- In New Jersey, the Union City Board of Commissioners voted Wednesday night to place police officers in city schools.
Union City Mayor Brian Stack says the officers will be in five schools for security and to conduct seminars.
The officers will be armed and in schools full time.
And in Marlboro, New Jersey, police officers were stationed in eight public schools beginning Wednesday.
School officials say the move is only temporary, while a long term security plan is established.
