ELIZABETH (WABC) -- It took firefighters several hours to get the upper hand on a stubborn fire in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Sunday night.
The fire likely started in the basement of commercial and residential building on Catherine Street around 9:30 p.m.
Flames quickly spread to all floors.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
It is not known how many people are out of their homes or what caused the blaze.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious.
