1 lucky winner hits $217 million Powerball jackpot

DES MOINES, Iowa (WABC) -- The good news is that one ticket matched the winning numbers in Wednesday night's $217 million Powerball drawing.

The bad news is that it probably wasn't you, unless you bought your ticket in Virginia.

There were also $1 million winning tickets sold in New York state and Connecticut.

The cash option for the big payout checks in at more than $130 million before taxes.

In November, winners in Arizona and Missouri split the second largest lottery jackpot of all time.
