Want to know more about interesting programs in your community and your State?

Every Sunday morning over 36,000 households tune in to watch "New York Viewpoint", "New Jersey Viewpoint" and "Long Island Viewpoint". The programs highlight the community and cultural efforts that enrich the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

These weekly round-table discussions are hosted by Eyewitness News anchor Ken Rosato.

Viewpoint airs at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

This week on New York Viewpoint: June 16th, 2013 (Originally aired on Dec. 30, 2012)

We bring you information on the New York Genome Center, which may become one of the largest research facilities of its kind in North America.

Also, we bring you a Brooklyn company that just won a major tech award, for inventing a product that makes cooking with wood, as clean and safe as modern fuels.

But first, the Prisoner Re-entry Institute, also known as PRI, at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, is expanding its amazing work trying to prevent recidivism, especially with disadvantaged youth. They have just recently announced the expansion of the New York City Justice Corps to serve 300 young adults annually.

Joining us in the studio from NYC Justice Corps are Stacie Sanchez, the Senior Project Director, Ramon Calleja (Kah-Je-Ha), an Alum, and Dianne Morales, Executive Director & CEO of Phipps Community Development Corporation.
